New Zealand: Police have identified dead children in suitcases
Wellington, August 26, 2022 | A week and a half after the remains of two children were found in two bags that were auctioned, the dead were identified in New Zealand. Inspector Tufelaw Famanuya Valois said on Friday that their names would not be released at the request of their relatives. Thus, other details that could lead to the children’s identification are not made public.
Possible relatives in South Korea
About a week after the discovery, police in South Korea tracked down a woman who might have had contact with the children. According to South Korean police, New Zealander Korean voters entered South Korea in 2018 and it appears they are still there.
Between the ages of five and eleven
The police had already said at least that the children were between the ages of five and 11 when they died. The case caused shock in New Zealand.
An unsuspecting family has bought two abandoned suitcases near Oakland that appear to have been stored in a storage room for years. When they opened the bags, the family discovered the remains of the two children inside.
