More matches between New Zealand and Japan as part of a partnership

The two countries, after a new partnership, will face each other regularly between 2024 and 2027.
New Zealand and Japan will play each other regularly between 2024 and 2027, under the terms of an agreement reached on Wednesday between the two countries’ rugby unions, which aims to promote rugby in the region. These meetings between the two countries will take place in Japan, according to the memorandum of understanding, which also includes possible meetings between clubs outside the Super Rugby calendar, or even more matches between women’s teams.

Japanese selections have been rising for several years now. In the 2019 World Cup on home soil, Japan reached the quarter-finals of the competition.
