Born in 1976, Olivier Bechte is a former student of ENA (Senghor promotion – 2002)

At the end of his studies at ENA, he joined the Administrative Court.

In 2008, he left office to devote himself to several local elective positions: mayor of the municipality of Rexheim (68) – until 2017 – vice-president of the agglomeration Mulhouse Alsace or county councilor, vice-chairman of the Haut-Rhin Provincial Council.

At the same time, since September 2008 he has been a lecturer in law, geopolitics and public finance at the University of Haute-Alsace.

In 2017, Olivier Bicht was elected deputy for the 5th arrondissement of Haut-Rhin. He became a member of the National Defense Office and the Armed Forces Committee.

In January 2020, he became Chairman of the Committee on Culture, Science, Education and Media of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe. In the same year, he created the Parliamentary Group of Aguirre in the National Assembly, of which he became president.

Re-elected deputy in 2022, Olivier Bichte was appointed, in July 2022, as Minister Delegate to the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, responsible for foreign trade, attractiveness, and the French living abroad. He remains a councilor for the municipality of Rexheim and a community advisor for the conglomerate Mulhouse Alsace, while devoting himself to a ministerial portfolio.
