If you are wondering what we do like that, apart from men, I will tell you: we watch our own little world, and we watch each other. This is what women all over the world do…
Why this book?
- Because this book is a trip to New Zealand And we really feel like we’re there. The author tells us about the treasures of this country, whether its animals or plants. Its landscapes that it describes so well for us, these legends that surround everything connected with the country.
- Because it is above all a story of women, Three exceptional women, like warriors, confront the hardships of life, the harsh climate of the Gulf. It is their solidarity that allows them to face all of this.
- Because I was bewitched by Maori legends that we were told. I thought it added a lot to the story. She also tells us about their traditions, their proverbs, their ways of seeing life and above all respect for nature.
- Because Melissa Da Costa raises important topics in this book. Parts of the heroine’s past, that make you think, that make you want to exist, to live, and an ode to freedom. It also shows us what nature can offer man, and that the beauty of nature can help rebuild us.
- Because emotions are powerful and magical. The story of these women can just touch your heart. The author has an incredible sensitivity that plunges us into the heart of her heroine’s soul. We are with them through thick and thin, in the heart of darkness or in the light that sunset over the Gulf brings to this beautiful country.
