Many World Cup stars make it into the top 14!
The World Cup episode is over and the top 14 teams will be able to welcome their new stars. Siya Kolisi (Racing 92), Sam Whitelock (Section Paloise), Semi Radradra (LOU) and Henry Arundell (Racing 92): These players aspire to a new life in the French championship. Review of the Color Transitions window.
Siya Kolisi (R92-32, South Africa 3rd grade)
Siya Kolisi, South Africa’s first black captain and two-time world champion in 2019 and 2023, is certainly a historic player. A people’s hero with a humanitarian character and a leader on the rugby field, the 32-year-old is Racing 92’s new big recruit this season.
“The signing of Siya Kolisi strengthens Racing 92’s ambitions and will provide our supporters with a high-profile spectacle. His deep culture of victory and natural leadership make him a great player coupled with a profound humanitarian.Jackie Lorenzetti confirmed in a club press release.
Therefore, his return to France is eagerly awaited. He has never played in any country other than South Africa, his country of origin. This new adventure will open doors to French rugby and the European high level. Race 92, in the Champions Cup for the 2023-2024 season, will have a lot to do with the world champion.
Sam Whitlock (Pauw – 35 years old, New Zealand 2nd row)
The All Blacks’ second-row, 2023 World Cup finalist Siya Kolisi, arrives at the Pau Division with regrets, but not only that. If he can become the first player to win three World Series titles, it’s not in vain. During the victory over Italy in the World Cup, New Zealand legend Richie McCaw (148 caps) finally surpassed the 2.03 meter tall giant (153 caps).
At 35 but unaffected, Sam Whitlock continues to make his mark on rugby. It was his little brother, Luke Whitlock, a third-year player at Pau, who encouraged him to join FC Berniers, the current top 14 leader.
Simi Radradra (LOU – 31 years old, Fiji winger)
Unlike his fellow South Africans and New Zealanders, Simi Radradra has a past as a top 14 player. A member of the record-breaking English Championship squad in 2021, the Fijian has known glory but French rugby calls to mind.
During his first season at Toulon in 2017, Radradra was quickly recognized for his physical attributes, decisiveness and impact on the ball. Purdue then granted Beagles his services for two seasons.
Three years later, he finally returned to France, at the age of thirty-one. This time, he will appear in the ranks of Lyon alongside the young New Zealander Josiah Marako (23 years old). A new chapter risks hitting hard.
Henry Arundel (Racing 92 – 20 years old, England national team full-back)
At 20 years old, Henry Arundel height is 1.83 m and weight 96 kg. He was the youngest player in the XV De La Rose World Cup. He has great potential, and England coach Steve Borthwick did not hide his pride in having such a player in his squad: “He is a great player in finishing attacks, and the message we must send to him is to bring the difference to the field, and to rely on him.” Which. And that’s what he does.” The author of five tries, most notably against Chile, the Englishman finished as the competition’s fourth-highest scorer.
A few months ago, he saw his London Irish club sink into the hands of the FA. The club was suspended from all competitions, and the club closed its doors due to financial problems. Just like his former partner Adam Coleman, who arrived at UBB at the start of the summer, Henry Arundel is also heading to Racing 92.
Now in the skies and white colours, Arundel will have to learn to distance themselves from the competition this season. Max Spring, the 22-year-old who is looking to join the French XV, stands out as the favorite at full-back, but the young Briton’s international experience will undoubtedly bring another version of the game in the eyes of the Lancaster coach.
