Lots of good news for Toulousin!
This Tuesday, the Stade-Toulousain group is back in training in order to prepare for the LOU Rugby reception, which is scheduled to take place on Sunday evening at Ernest-Wallon, as part of the 22nd day of the Top 14.
And good news for Ville Rose: two key players in the squad were able to resume training and therefore left the infirmary at the start of the week.
In fact, Italian international full-back Ange Capuzzo has recovered from a shoulder injury. He’s back in training, and he’s the one who got injured with Italy during the Six Nations Championship.
Likewise, three-quarter midfielder Sofiane Ghaitoun resumed training two and a half weeks after he injured his calf during the first-14 match against Castres.
Two other players also left the infirmary, Martin Page Rillo and third grade Theo Ntamack.
Another good news for Toulouse: the New Zealand right-handed coach is back in charge of Charlie Fomoina.
All of these players are ready for this weekend’s game against Lyon.
On the other hand, the Toulouse staff must take the utmost care with the hooker Julien Marchand who has a sprained ankle.
Finally, winger Matthijs Lebel has had a week off and will miss the LOU, unlike Bale, Marchand, Aldegury, Flament, Kroos, Dupont, Netmac and Ramos, who have all taken the weekend off, just like England international Jack Willis.
It remains to be seen if the Toulouse squad decide to rotate against LOU this weekend.
