Kevin Simpson joins Chip Ganassi for 2024 in IndyCar
Further reinforcements to the Chip fleet which will include five single seaters in 2024!
Chip Ganassi Racing announces hiring of Barbados driver Kevin Simpson – As Zayn Maloney, a Formula 2 driver – But he lives in the Cayman Islands, Kevin, where he has signed for the 2024 season in the American IndyCar Series single-seat championship.
And so he continues his ascension, having shined and won victories in the Indy NXT class, the stepping stone to Indycar and also this year in IMSA endurance with the Tower Sports team in LMP2, where he won the 12 Hours of Sebring.
In Europe, this season he is participating in the ELMS LMP2 with the Algarve team, victorious with his teammates James Allen and Alex Lynn, during the Paul Ricard Tour.
With the arrival of Kevin Simpson, next year’s Chip Ganassi Racing team will simply line up five drivers including six-time champion, New Zealander Scott Dixon, the current dual champion, Spaniard Alex Palo, another New Zealander Marcus Armstrong and finally Swede Linus Lundqvist, the 2017 Indy NXT champion. 2022.
He discovered the latter and began to discipline himself in recent months by replacing Frenchman Simon Pagenaud at MSR (Meyer Shank Racing) who has been injured since the Mid-Ohio event.
After his signing was announced, the young driver, who will turn 19 in a few days – born October 9, 2004 in Bridgetown – noted:
