Jacquemus de Simon Porte opens up a new space in the Selfridges Accessories Lounge

The 860-square-foot boutique sits on the frontage of massive Duke Street, and was designed by Simon Porte Jacquemus and AMO, the research and design counterpart of renowned architecture firm OMA. Dressed in terracruda, echoing Jacquemus’ original Provence, the design of the space is inspired by the idea of testing the limits of work with a single material, and is filled with discreet cabinets that reveal the brand’s signature Chiquito, Bambino, Banetto and Picoto. Speaking on the news, Eileen van Loon, Partner at OMA commented: “The design inspiration for the Jacquemus space comes from the brand’s origins in the south of France. We wanted to capture the atmosphere of Provence through the materiality of space, which prompted us to approach the design in a completely different way.
