Jonno Gibbs has been appointed coach of the New Zealand Under-20 national team. The former La Rochelle and Clermont coach finds a position eleven months after his departure from ASM.

The New Zealand Federation announced this information on Tuesday via a press release. Former Waikato Chiefs player Brad Cooper, Jarrad Hoiata and Craig Donlea will help set his sights on the 2024 World Cup. “For me, it is a great honor to be able to lead our next generation. We are fortunate to be able to work with a group of talented people and give them the tools to showcase their talents.” says Jono Gibbs.

Assistant to Frank Azeema during Clermont’s last Prinos Shield tournament win in 2017, Jono Gibbs took charge of La Rochelle and reached the final of the Top 14 and the Champions Cup before returning to ASM as head coach in 2021.
