International – New Zealand: New coach named “In the coming days”, favorite Scott Robertson
The New Zealand FA should appoint a new coach “in the coming days” according to Scott Robertson, the favorite for the job, who did not want to say anything about his future. Ian Foster will step down after the World Cup.
The suspense is coming to an end in New Zealand. While Ian Foster will step down as All Blacks coach after the World Cup (8 September – 28 October), the New Zealand Football Association should announce a “Won” successor in the coming days, says Scott Robertson. The current Crusaders manager, 48, has spoken to local media about rumors of him taking over as New Zealand manager from Foster. “I’d better say nothing at this time, and ask the NZRU any questions you have. Do I still want the job? Yes, nothing has changed on my behalf.”
One last season with the Crusaders?
The Crusaders coach mainly remembers having a season to go with his team, especially after a dry defeat by Chiefs and his men’s shock defeat against Fiji Droi last week. “I’m really experienced, I’ve been here a long time, I understand the game. I have a job to do here, that’s my main goal.” The previous Perpignan ended with a profit (2003-2006).
