Game news If Mario didn't exist, there wouldn't be Helldivers 2 either! The director of the current multiplayer game explains how Nintendo inspired him
Nintendo games origin Helldivers II? The game director has already delivered a sweet declaration of love for the Japanese giant by revealing the origin of his video game ambitions.
Lots of love for Nintendo
Nintendo has inspired many gamers to cross over and get into video game development. Proof of this once again is this beautiful statement from Johan Billstedt, Director Hildeverse II and CEO of Arrowhead Studios. On X/Twitter, the creator interacted with a fan who collects the best Playstation and Nintendo games, before revealing the origin of his passion for video games.
Also, the reason I became a game developer is because @Nintendo. Love to all games everywhere! ❤️

(…) The reason I decided to become a developer is because of Nintendo. Much love to all games everywhere!
The developer also revealed that one of his favorite titles was Star Fox, the popular shooter. But Nintendo represents a benchmark in terms of game design and we can only praise the quality of gameplay in Helldivers II, the comparison stops here. Johan Pilestedt didn't reveal much more, and it seems difficult to compare TPS like Helldivers to Big N games.
Multiplayer game at the moment
However, it's clear by now that Helldivers II exudes passion for video games. Arrowhead is full of quality, starting with the gameplay as we mentioned before, Helldivers 2 is often compared to Hideo Kojima's Metal Gear Solid 5, much to the studio's boss's delight. But even more than the gameplay, it's the studio's follow-up that's worth admiring. The program has faced many difficulties since its launch, especially regarding servers that were unable to adapt to the huge influx of players.
Regardless, Arrowhead did not give up for a moment and worked to provide solutions to its community. As the experience becomes more stable, the studio continues to enrich its software with many new features. An additional Battle Pass has been introduced and players can also access new gimmicks such as mechas or, more recently, two heavy weapons that allow them to fight more effectively against terrible mechs. So, it's a perfect follow-up, making Helldivers II already a must-see game of the year 2024.
