Hydrocarbon contamination has been detected in Sarthe

Hydrocarbon contamination was observed in one of the Sarthe arms, in the heart of Sables-sur-Sarthe, on Wednesday, October 25, 2023, in the early afternoon. The deputy mayor raised the alarm and firefighters arrived at around 3:30pm on Rue Joel Le Thule.

The small speck was spotted in Marbery Arm, which flows before the Soustin-Bruno Stadium. Three vehicles and four firefighters were sent to the scene.

Specialized firefighters

The rescue center Sablé-sur-Sarthe also specializes in this type of risk and was able, for this occasion, to bring out its own dedicated vehicle.
