Hurricane Lee is expected to land off the coast of the Lesser Antilles this weekend
This cyclonic system is expected to develop in the northeastern West Indies from Friday, September 8, 2023. The French Meteorological Service predicts “rainy and stormy periods” over Martinique and the sea will deepen.

Strong Tropical Storm Lee is now a Category 1 hurricane, located about 1,800 kilometers east of the Lesser Antilles and moving west-northwest at 22 km/h. Lee is expected to continue strengthening into a major hurricane in the next two days. It will take its likely path towards the northwest, then north of Sagittarius at the end of the week. It is still too early to determine its indirect effects on the Lesser Antilles.
The National Hurricane Center estimates that this phenomenon will become a major hurricane by Friday. Regarding Guadeloupe and Martinique, swells are expected on the northern and northeastern slopes. Caution will also be exercised for boaters and marine professionals from Friday.
