A total of 24 eyewitness interviews have been completed
All eight premieres can now be seen on the big screen in the former parish hall of the Evangelical Church, which will be converted into a museum and where, among other things, the Kleinmachnow eV Museum is already located. The association has already collected 24 eyewitness interviews, and more are being planned.
Among the films to be shown this weekend is an interview with Kleinmachnow DEFA production designer Dieter Adam (born 1931). Among other things, he tells about June 17, 1953, his move to the residential district of Kleinmachnow in 1963 and his life in the Kleinmachnow club of intellectuals “Juliot Curie” as well as the events that took place there, such as the legendary carnival.

Klaus-Jürgen Warnik (born 1952) gives lively accounts of his childhood in Kleinmachenau and youth parties in his own tree, which later becomes his home. In 1989, Warnick was on the road as a member of the New Forum and one of the first to drive through the Drlinden border crossing on the night the Wall fell. An intense argument ensued with the previous owner of his property with great joy. Warnick was a central figure in the 1990s “Struggle for Home”, which earned him a seat in the German Bundestag in a single legislature.
Also featured are interviews with Willie Koster, Hilda Wendt, Fritz Joachim Behrendt, Jonah Koch, Kamerspiel owner Karl Heinz Bornmann and left-wing politician Thomas Singer.
