A campus gynecologist is said to have sexually assaulted female students in the United States for more than seven years. The major university has been accused of knowing these allegations for a long time. Now it is paying the victims the highest compensation in US history. The gynecologist accused the most.

The University of Southern California (USC) in the United States has agreed to pay hefty compensation for the alleged sexual assault of hundreds of female students by a gynecologist on campus. Attorney Gloria Allied announced that the major university had agreed to compensation of $ 842.4 million (714 million euros), with more than 700 people affected.

With the university already promised $ 215 million in compensation in another class action lawsuit in 2018, it has to pay more than $ 1 billion in total damages. Senior lawyer Allred said the agreement reached now is “the largest sexual assault settlement with a university in the history of the United States.”

The college said the agreement was “fair and reasonable.” At the heart of the scandal is former campus gynecologist George Tindall. It is said to have passed to hundreds of patients over the course of three decades. Allegations range from indecent touching to rape. The youngest victim was 17 years old.

The doctor is said to have photographed his patients’ genitals, touched their breasts and made suggestive notes about their appearance. The 74-year-old doctor is also accused of making racist and anti-gay statements. Tindall has reportedly targeted the abuse of minority women, including many Asian students who do not speak English well.

The university is accused of knowing the allegations against Tyndall but still allowing him to practice on campus. The USC did not open an investigation until 2016. Tyndall made an amicable retirement agreement with the university. It was not revealed how much money he was getting paid for it. After the police opened an investigation in 2019, Tindall was arrested for various crimes against 16 young women.

The paramedic is currently awaiting his trial, He faces up to 53 years in prison. Tyndall has denied all allegations. In a statement issued in 2019, he declared that he would remain “extremely crucified” until he was “fully exonerated.” The president of the University of Southern California resigned in 2018 over the scandal after about 200 lecturers demanded the consequences.
