Google Keep for Android Launches a New Way to Create Lists

Note-making app Google Keep is getting a new feature to help you create lists faster.

Google Keep to Android It continues to evolve by introducing a new way to create lists using Gemini, the brand’s AI. The goal here is to make the app more practical by saving time on note-taking.

Google Keep for Android Steps Into AI

This Google Keep feature was introduced by the company at the same time as the new Pixel 9, and it is not exclusive to the latest Pixel smartphones. In fact, it is available unlimitedly to Android smartphone users who subscribe to the Google One “AI Premium” package including 2TB of cloud storage (this package is offered for one year with the purchase of the Pixel 9 Pro or 9 Pro XL).

Our colleagues inRobot body I was able to activate this new Google Keep feature on a Pixel 7a with Android 15 (beta) and a 50GB Google One plan, and the option also worked on a Xiaomi smartphone with Google One “AI Premium.” However, Android smartphone users who do not have such a plan can also use it, but with a limited number of requests.

List creation works using simple text commands (prompts) in which you give instructions to the app. In common examples, Google Keep suggests, for example, asking you to create a shopping list, a to-do list, or a travel list. It’s hard to see how Google could provide a relevant list without digging into your personal information distilled across the US giant’s various apps…

In Google Keep’s settings, we can see that the “Help me create a list” feature is no longer marked as experimental, and can be disabled if you’re not interested in it. We haven’t been able to access this feature in the Pixel 9’s Google Keep app yet, but it may only be a matter of time. It’s also possible that Google will restrict the functionality by region, something the company has largely done with the Pixel 9.
