Paris (AFP) – France’s 15th women’s team, who finished fourth at the end of the World Cup group stage in New Zealand, will face a quarter-final match against Italy, fifth, on Saturday in Whangarei (north) at 4:30 pm. Local time (05:30 Paris time).

At the end of the group stage, the eight teams that qualified for the knockout stage were, in order, as follows: New Zealand (15 points), Canada (15), England (14), France (11). Italy (9), Australia ( 8), USA (5) and Wales (5),” World Rugby said in a statement on Sunday.
Based on this arrangement, the quarter-finalists were determined according to the following principle: the first against the eighth, the second against the seventh, etc.
So they will go against France, Italy and New Zealand to Wales on Saturday 29 October at the Northland event centre, then England to Australia and Canada to the United States on Sunday 30 October at Waitakere Stadium.
The winners of next weekend’s matches will meet in the semi-finals on Saturday 5 November in Eden Park, while the losers will be eliminated from the tournament.
France took second place in Group C behind the “Red Roses”, the top candidate for the competition, with two victories over South Africa (40-5) and Fiji (44-0) and a defeat against England (13-7).
