Founding Slipknot singer Colsefni dedicates a tour to the deceased members

Anders Colviny, Slipknot’s first vocalist, dedicated this year’s tour to Slipknot bassist Paul Gray, who died in 2010, and Slipknot drummer Joey Jordison, who died in 2021.

says the vocalist in an emotional statement chat On the other side: “As many of you know, I’m not very good at posting on social media or talking to the press, but with interest growing on my upcoming tour of Australia and New Zealand, it’s time to make a statement.”

To Paul Gray and Joey Jordison

Colvin addresses Paul Gray and Joey Jordison directly: “My shows as part of this tour are dedicated to my fallen brothers Joey and Paul. I miss you both so much I have confidence in you to deliver these songs with the same level of aggression and volatility we did 27 years ago.”

The musician tells his fans: “I would like to acknowledge the tremendous support from my fans all over the world. It is incredibly moving to know how much confidence you have had over the years. I will make you proud.”

Also: “I’m going to strive to make the group as emotionally original as possible, as it was meant to be years ago – but I’m not going to perform like the kid I used to be, I’m going to perform like I am now. Since writing these songs nearly 30 years ago, I’ve had so many opportunities.” Great for honing my vocal skills and growing as a person.”

Numetal Mayhem Tour

Colsefni will headline the “Numetal Mayhem” tour in Australia and Aotearoa, New Zealand, with former Mushroomhead singer Waylon Reavis this fall. Slipknot’s first EP MATE was only recently announced. feed. killing. repeats. to be played in full.

What does Corey Taylor say about this?

After it was announced that the singer would perform Slipknot material, his replacement, Corey Taylor, took to Twitter and wrote: “I wish I could be there to see these shows but I know @anderscolsefni will rock them.”

In his statement, Anders Colvin also thanks Taylor for the support: In response to Cory’s congratulations, I would say ‘Thank you.’ He loves some grub (Name for Slipknot fans – Ann.dA) Surprise, but I’ve been friends with Corey for a long time since I left the band. There has always been a warm friendship between us. I see Cory as a true brother, he has always supported me and so have I.”

Finally he says: “Thank you again for your like and support. I look forward to MATE. Feed. Kill. Repeat. To be delivered in Australia for the first time. Long live ‘The Knot’.”
