multimedia content
Another novelty from Bard: the addition of images in its results. Multimedia content is at the heart of Google’s strategy, first with MUM for several years, but also Google Lens, which can generate text linked to an image.
Context is key to research. Bard will be able, on a simple request, to reorganize the information, by distributing it to a map (Google Maps), or a table, and it can be easily exported in Google Sheets to share.
Adobe Firefly
Bard integrates Adobe Firefly, a competitor to Midjourney for image generation.
Bard is now open in more than 180 countries (but not in France).

Cool and the law
Bard already supports more than two dozen Microsoft Copilot competitor programming languages (Python, Go, C++….).
To make the work more visible, Bard can give his sources along with explanations of the jobs created. This LLM is also capable of debugging and optimizing the code to make it more efficient.
And since it’s a regular request from the developers: Bard offers itself a dark mode, available from Bard or from the system settings. To make collaborative work easier, Bard offers sharing functionality, particularly with Gmail.

Stop the fake news
Google pledges to take an ethical approach to AI to avoid, among other things, fake news. Images generated by PaLM 2 will be watermarked and will include metadata explaining the context and stating that they are AI-generated images.
19:12
Palm 2
It’s time to talk about PaLM 2, Google’s large language model suite (Bard, a ChatGPT competitor). Over a hundred languages are now supported.
PaLM 2 is able for example to debug a piece of code (for developers) and add comments in Korean with a simple text request.
For this, Google has added a medical overlay: Med-PaLM 2. This multimedia model is capable of analyzing images and delivering results for what it’s worth. Thus, sending an X-ray to him will make it possible to obtain a diagnosis.
PaLM 2 is available in preview.

MagicEditor
After Magic Eraser to remove elements from the image, Magic Editor will now allow you to recreate light effects or move certain elements from your photos.
Magic Editor is coming” later this year With the Pixel 8?

Artificial intelligence is at the heart of Google’s strategy
Artificial intelligence is at the core of our lives, but generative AI is changing things and especially research. We start with Gmail.
In addition to word completion, the AI will now be able to write complete emails, with the ability to update the selection to get the perfect email.

What are the ads at Google I/O 2023?
Google I/O is very busy this year! You can find all of this in detail in our dedicated article, but here is a summary.
Google Pixel 7a and Pixel Fold
As every year, hardware renderings are expected, starting with the Pixel 7a, the brand’s mid-range smartphone. According to many rumors about it, it should be a must-have in its class by offering almost the same exploits as the Pixel 7 at a lower cost.
But it’s not the only phone expected. After years of rumors and rumors of all kinds, the Pixel Fold should finally be official. The Android manager’s first foldable smartphone may be kicking an anthill.
Google Pixel device
Vaguely announced at Google I/O 2022, the Pixel Tablet is slated for release in 2023. June to be exact. So Google should take advantage of this conference to present it from all angles, but also to talk about the interface.
Android 14
This interface is of course Android 14! The beta version is already available, but Google usually reveals new features during its conference. We hope that improvements will be announced to adapt to the tablet format.
bluetooth beacon
Google is expected to introduce a Bluetooth beacon to rival Apple AirTags. The two California giants are also collaborating on this topic.
Amnesty International
With the success of ChatGPT and Microsoft’s takeover of it, Google’s monopoly on search is in jeopardy. This conference is an opportunity for Google to show its expertise in this area and develop its balls to take on Bing, and bring more AI to Google Workspace (Google Docs, Sheets, etc.).
and more
Many other new features are expected, be it software (updates to Google Maps, Lens, Workspace, etc.), but also hardware. After Google is used to revealing its products early to counter leaks, it is not impossible for us to discover, for example, the first images of the Pixel Watch 2 or Pixel 8.
