Fans have a variety of questions about the series. Essentially, the Cixin Trilogy, titled Remembrance of Earth’s Past, is an epic story for humanity, from its first contact with an extraterrestrial civilization in the near future to a very distant future. Cixin’s novels contain so many philosophical digressions about technology and also about fundamental questions of interstellar coexistence among peoples, that you wonder how they (could) be transferred into a TV series. While the first novel deals with the events of a few decades, the second novel deals with centuries and finally the third with epic times. Cixin George Orwell and Arthur C. Clarke among his literary role models – and perhaps also influenced by the earthly history of the second half of the twentieth century – paint a rather bleak picture of the connection between the two worlds.

On the other hand, Weiss and Benioff are famous for their main work so far – “Game of Thrones” which was launched aggressively as a new modification, but, according to popular opinion, ran out of steam when the two models had to leave the block terrain. In addition, there were several of their canceled projects (such as a trilogy of films in “Star Wars”). “Three Body Problem” is now the first big budget act for both of them under their framework contract with Netflix.

“The Three Body Problem” is an introduction to the story that was first published in 2007. In the near future, a Chinese scientist is aware of a series of suspicious deaths among other scientists. He finally found a connection between the deaths and the first contact of a conspiracy group with the inhabitants of an alien planet – the so-called Trisolan (whose planet is in a system of three suns, from which the title of the book is derived).

As part of Tudum, Netflix provided a behind-the-scenes look at the series. Unfortunately, the broadcast portion was not published as a separate video. During the broadcast, the “third body problem” sequence begins at about 31 minutes and lasts less than two minutes:

3 Body Problem has ended filming and is set to hit Netflix in 2023.

The cast includes “Game of Thrones” actors Liam Cunningham and John Bradley as well as Benedict Wong and Tsai Chen (both active in the Marvel Cinematic Universe), Jovan Adebo (“The Stand”), Eza Gonzalez (“From Dusk to Dawn – The Series) , newcomer Jess Hong (Brokenwood), Marlo Kelly (Don’t You Dare), Alex Sharp (The Trial of the Chicago 7), Sea Shimooka (Emiko Queen in Arrow)), newcomer Zain Tsing and Samer Osmani (“What/ if”).
