FIFA U-20 World Cup – France U-20 to face New Zealand in semi-final
Having qualified with a 29-11 win over Wales on Tuesday, the team will challenge New Zealand on Sunday to try to secure a ticket to the Grand Final and continue their path towards a possible quadruple. The other half will see England and Ireland face off.
Hey, how we meet again! After being defeated last Thursday by Baby Black in the last second (27-26), the young Frenchman will have the chance to take revenge on Sunday in South Africa.
Indeed, after their win over Wales on Tuesday, Sebastien Calvet's men have secured a place in the semi-finals. The French U-20s, the three-time champions, qualified as the best second-best and will therefore challenge the New Zealanders, who finished the group stage with 15 points after three improved successes. This encounter will take place on Sunday at 7pm.
The other semi-final will see Ireland take on England. These two teams finished first in their group and thus earned the right to see the semi-finals. As a reminder, in 2023, the French beat the English in the semi-finals and Ireland in the final to be crowned world champions. This year again, to reach the final, we will have to eliminate one of these two line-ups.
