Once again, Messi could cause disappointment in France at the FIFA Best Football Awards in Paris on Monday (9pm) – taking home the award for the seventh time.

The 35-year-old capped off his career in Qatar by winning the World Cup Final (4-2 on the pens) and being named the tournament’s Most Valuable Player. Mbappe, Messi’s teammate at Paris Saint-Germain, scored three goals for France in the final to become the team’s top scorer. As with men, for women, too, the decision is made without German participation.
