Espace Diamant: Exhibition “The Team in JOJO” from July 2 to July 13.
Starting July 2, the city of Ajaccio and Espace Diamant present their last exhibition of the season, ‘Team Jojo’. It brings together 8 artists from Ajaccio who present works inspired by the famous song by Joe Dassin, a reflection of a light and optimistic era.
Opening on Saturday 2 July at 6:30 pm in the presence of artists.
About 52 years ago, Joe Dassin sang L’Équipe on Jojo. A cheerful and optimistic history of a bygone era. It was about a group of friends who, although very different from each other, came together to share the basics: life!
” We lit a cigarette and it all lit / And it was a party, July 14th / There weren’t too many friends in the Jojo team / There were nights without guitar less than days without bread / We shared everything and had nothing / How crazy we were, what do we care about / how good we were »
In this phrase there is the essence of the exhibition presented at Espace Diamant, almost a statement …
Eight artists, young (or less young), came together in a flurry of spontaneity. Eight artists from Ajaccio who respond “present” when called to produce in 15 days, who are not “afraid” to turn themselves in without fanfare, to put themselves at risk because the very idea of danger is not here: no bets, no pretension, no positions.
What unites these eight personalities is also due to a certain form, a different intimate relationship. The chores whose formats predetermine to stay above the bed rather than sitting on the sofa, chores we’d probably rather keep to ourselves than show off the living room. In short, it is these “little things” that create this personal relationship that each of us maintains with art in general and the plastic arts in particular.
The duration of the exhibition is from July 2 to July 13, 2022
