It’s been almost ten years since Ed Sheeran contributed his song “I See Fire” to “The Hobbit. The Desolation of Smaug.” Now the singer has performed his song in front of the right background, which is the set of the Hobbiton movies.
Performing your own song in the right place is definitely something very special. Hamburg radio star Ed Sheeran was able to experience it firsthand. The singer is currently touring around New Zealand and also made a very special stop: on the set of the Hobbiton movies, where both the Lord of the Rings trilogy and all three Hobbit movies were filmed. In 2013, Sheeran contributed the theme song to the second Hobbit movie, “The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug”.
A “surprise guest” at the Green Dragon Inn
While visiting the set, Sheeran had the opportunity to perform his song “I See Fire” at the appropriate venue, the Green Dragon Inn, the hobbit’s pub. The appearance was also later posted on the Hobbiton TikTok account with the following words: “We had a surprise guest at the Green Dragon Inn today.” Ed Sheeran said shortly after the song’s release that it suited him perfectly. So it’s time to play the song in a perfect setting.
