Diablo IV: Blizzard May Reintroduce “Rebirth” for Upcoming Seasons | Xbox One
With the first season of Diablo IV quickly approaching, it is a well-known feature of the Diablo license that is making headlines and this is directly related to progression through the game’s seasons.
Soon the return of “Rebirth”?
Before explaining what Rebirth is to the uninitiated, you should know that each new season of Diablo requires the creation of a new custom character. The latter will accompany you throughout the season through quests, dungeons and many new features. However, once you reach the end of your adventure, that character reverts to the “base game” and is therefore no longer usable in subsequent seasons, which will require creating a new custom character, etc.
To get around this process, which can be tedious and disheartening for some players, Blizzard has published Rebirth in Diablo III. This feature made it possible to turn a non-seasonal character into a seasonal character. Concretely, the non-seasonal character returned to the first level and returned his equipment to the main game. Rebirth only kept the character’s name, face, and playtime, but that’s understandable to some players.
Today, it’s Diablo’s community manager who is teasing Rebirth and suggesting that the functionality may return in Diablo IV.
“Rebirth isn’t a feature yet in Diablo 4 but we’ve heard this request a lot, so the team is aware of it.”
Rebirth will only be an interesting alternative after all, allowing some players to find their own personal and favorite hero each season.
Blizzard will share new details about the new season on July 18th. Diablo IV has been available since June 6, 2023 on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X | S.
Rebirth is not a feature in D4 yet. But we heard this set up the team to realize.
