Christchurch murder investigation: Armed police search the headquarters of the Mughal gang

Armed police raided a gang headquarters on the South Island today in connection with the death of a man in Christchurch Hospital.
Police launched a murder investigation earlier today.
Chief Detective Sergeant Joel Sim said that police have been informed of the transfer of a man to Christchurch Hospital this morning with serious injuries. He later died.
The Herald newspaper learned that armed police raided the headquarters of the Mongolian gang in the South Island this evening.
Investigators were searching the property in connection with the murder investigation.
Earlier, several officers were outside the emergency department of Christchurch Hospital on Riccarton Street.
They were supervising a white Mercedes without license plates that was later towed from the area.
