Chabaud’s gallery has expanded into Véronique Nocquet’s space

The space created by Véronique Nocquet, dedicated to the French art of living, continues to spread its influence on Uzès. Always chatty, the owner of the place comments on the new layout, one theme per table, and long center tables on which dishes are displayed.

At the moment one is dedicated to peace with a set by Jean-Charles de Castelbajac for the Faïencerie de Gien, on the surrounding chairs are representations of paintings by Matisse, Picasso and Miro on decorative cushions by Jules Panso, a weaver since 1878 a house whose country issues its Living Heritage Companies label For French companies with excellent craftsmanship and industrial knowledge. The label the owner is specifically looking for.

Everywhere among the carefully selected furnishings, artwork is highlighted by thoughtful lighting to create an upscale atmosphere. On the walls, fifteen drawings and a painting by Auguste Chabaud extending the town gallery “Cesare and Chabaud, two Italian artists, selected pieces”, from the former bishopric and are for sale in the shop.

Some pieces from the Fauve period, Veronique saysBut when the painter returned to Graveson, after the Parisian period, he produced works which I would say were quieter, more gentle in which family scenes are acted out, within his house, his mother, and children, such as this picture of his son on a bicycle.”

This possibility of discovering another face of the painter is a sympathetic initiative due to a meeting between Marc Stamigna, curator of the city gallery, and Véronique.
