Fools Garden is a German band from Pforzheim, stylistically switching between pop-rock and Britpop. She achieved international fame with the 1995 song Lemon Tree.

In 1991 Peter Freudenthaler (born February 19, 1963, vocals) and Volker Hinkel (born June 21, 1965, guitar) founded Fool’s Garden in Möttlingen and recorded the promotional CD of the same name together. After adding Thomas Mangold (born September 25, 1965, electric bass), Roland Ruhl (born April 6, 1971, keyboard) and Ralph Fuchel (born February 23, 1968, drums), they played the album “Once Upon a Blue Moon” which included two new songs.This is the only commercially available album on which Volker Henkel sings multiple songs.The group achieved their first success in 1994 when the title Wild Days was chosen for a commercial by C&A.In 1995, the German album Lemon Tree achieved No. The single, which also appeared on the album “Dish of the Day”, was the biggest hit in the band’s history.Both single (platinum in Germany, New Zealand, and Norway; gold in Switzerland, Austria, France and Sweden) and album (platinum in Germany and Switzerland; gold in Austria) were both sold out. Very well outside Germany.

The song “Lemon Tree” took first place in the German charts for four weeks from February 23 to March 21, and the album “Dish of the Day” for the week of March 8 to 14. In 1996, Fool’s Garden was awarded Bambi, Golden Europe, Golden Tuning Fork and Echo as the most successful young band.

Sky du Mont

Everyone knows Sky Du Mont, who was born in Buenos Aires in 1947. After his initial roles in theater and television, he made his film debut in 1976 in the hometown film Das Schweigen im Walde. Du Mont has been seen 21 times in episodes of the German crime series Derrick, and has also played in Der Kommissar, Der Alte and Tatort – he preferred to play the villain. His fame continued to grow with Otto – Der Film (1985).

Sky du Mont has also made a name for himself internationally: in addition to his roles in American films such as The Boys from Brazil and Stanley Kubrick’s Eyes Wide Shut alongside Nicole Kidman and Tom Cruise, he has also appeared in 59 episodes of the series. Hospital participates in the “General Hospital” chain.

In 2001, he took on the role of respected criminal Santa Maria in Michael Paul Herbig’s Western parody titled Der Schuh des Manitu. Three years later he proved his comedic talent again in ‘(T) Raumschiff Surprise – Period 1’. Sky du Mont received a Bambi Award and a German Comedy Award for both films. In 2017, he again worked with Michael Bully Herbig in Die Bullyparade – Der Film. But he’s also a writer, speaker for commercials, movie trailers, and artist. (with VIP.de)

Lars Lemke has been the restaurant’s tenant owner since 2001 and acquired the Bürgergarten in 2017. Since then, much has been rebuilt, expanded and remodeled. After the renovation, a bright and modern ambiance captivates the newly designed and expanded guest room. The new kitchen, as an extension of the existing building, offers plenty of space for modern equipment and ideal conditions for the kitchen and catering team. The conservatory was expanded and got a glass frame, now the conservatory can also be used for festivities in the cold season.

The newly built suite in the beer garden is available for groups of up to 50 people, and the spacious balcony, lounge area with wind protection and shaded plane trees invites you to relax. The multi-use children’s playground in the restaurant area is sure to make the hearts of the little guests beat faster. In-house parking spaces and barrier-free access are of course available.
