Big dance party to present the 2022 German Dance Award

With a diverse program and international guests, the diversity of dance and the art of award winners are celebrated. Concert tickets and live broadcasts are now available.

Deutscheperband Tanz Deutschland invites dance lovers and dance professionals to Essen for the 2022 German Dance Award Ceremony.

This year’s multi-faceted program is exclusively about award winners. Two Marco Goecke Pieces are part of the programme. Lilith Hakobyan of Staatsballett Hannover dances solo to the music of singer Barbara toyDedicated by Marco Joecki to Princess Caroline of Monaco in 2009 in recognition of her years of commitment to dance. Rosario Guerra and Louis Steinmetz, also from Staatsballett Hannover, also perform a duet Marco Gueck midnight rajawhose title goes back to classical Indian music.

Christoph Winkler presents his piece together To the composition music of the same name by Federic Rzewski, performed by the international Zafraan Ensemble. Dancers from Holland, Nigeria, New Zealand and Germany interact with the body in turmoil and explore the body’s ability to protest.

Reinhild Hoffmann shares her show created especially for the occasion What are you on your way… On a journey into her artistic past and allows her to experience the work of past decades in the present.

One under the funding program Dance Chance A film produced by the Actiontans Association We live in a strange world – a dance movie inspired by the letters of Greta Thunberg By Kristen and Carola Schmidt as an example of the association’s work.

Seminar entitled “Attitudes: Arrival of Dance No. 5”

Through a series of Digital Seminar modules spanning the period from October 2022 to March 2023, the focus will be on the topic of ‘Access’, from the possibilities of dance training to questions of professionalism and transnational perspectives. The usual format of a three-day, precisely timed seminar would be abandoned, slowing it down and thus making it snag-free.
