Bianca Andreescu loses the mixed doubles final in Paris
The Ontario and fellow New Zealander Michael Venus lost to Japanese duo Mio Kato and German Tim Putz 6-4, 4-6, 10-6.
The doubles matches here are a point here, a point there, but overall I think we played really well. They have raised their game at the right moments

The Canadian enjoyed being able to play tennis until the end of the two-week Grand Slam tournament. I forgot what it was, but I’m glad I experienced it again. Yes, I will have to build on that for the next tournaments, maybe even Wimbledon
she added.
She liked being on the field with less pressure than usual.
I needed this so that I could experience things that might work for me in singles. Sometimes I feel like I’m too serious, too critical of myself. It’s nice when someone tells you that everything is fine, that you don’t have to worry, and you should turn the page and think about the next point
I explained.
What I mean is, I can do it on my own, but it’s always nice to have someone next to you telling you out loud.

In singles, the 42nd player in the world, the US Open champion in 2019, was knocked out in the third round by Ukrainian Lesya Tsurenko (66th).
So Kato has moved on from her controversial disqualification from the women’s doubles tournament that happened last week. She and her partner were disqualified in the third round after the Japanese accidentally hit the hostess in the neck with the ball after a point.
She was also fined 21,500 euros (about $31,000) and exempt from all doubles ranking points. However, Kato managed to continue his journey in the mixed doubles. And she took her chance.
