Australia and New Zealand will co-host the tournament
This coming July and August, the Women’s World Cup will be the biggest women’s football sporting event ever. The tournament will be co-hosted by Australia and New Zealand and is scheduled to take place from July 20 to August 20, 2023.
It will be the first FIFA Women’s World Cup to be hosted by more than one country, and also the first World Cup to be held in two continental confederations, as Australia is part of the Asian Confederation and New Zealand is part of the Oceania Confederation. In addition, this tournament will be the first to feature an expanded format with 32 teams, up from 24 previously.
The competition begins with 32 countries divided into eight groups of four. The top two countries in each group qualify for the knockout stage, starting in the round of 16. The winners of each stage then advance to the quarter-finals on August 11 and 12, to the semi-finals on August 15 and 16, and the final on August 20.
The opening match will be between New Zealand and Norway at Eden Park in Auckland on July 20, 2023. The final will be played on August 20, 2023 at the Olympic Stadium in Sydney, Australia. The United States is the defending champion, having won the previous two tournaments.

Group B: Australia, Canada, Ireland, Nigeria
Group C: Spain, Japan, Costa Rica, Zambia
Group D: England, China, Denmark and Haiti
Group E: The United States, the Netherlands, Vietnam, Portugal
Group F: France, Brazil, Jamaica, Panama
Group G: Sweden, Italy, Argentina and South Africa
Group H: Germany, South Korea, Colombia, Morocco
