Alpine skiing. Flavio Vitale wins another victory in New Zealand!
After his success at the Thailand Slalom Championships, Flavio Vitale won the New Zealand National Junior Championships in the same discipline. The Apex2100 youngster Tignard is ahead of Dane Christian Borgeness and Andorran Axel Esteve.
Second success in as many starts: Flavio Vitale has had a perfect start to the season. A week after winning the Thai championship, Tignard did it again. And in Cardrona, the Apex2100 resident won the New Zealand National Junior Championship (NJC) in the slalom on Monday. After a strong first round, the Cimalpes world hit the nail on the head during the second act to push his closest rival back by almost a second. A success that allowed him to score 23 FIS points, his second best performance at accounting level.
End of summer preparations
The victory marks the start of Cardrona’s four-race series, and comes just a few days before Savoyard in New Zealand. As he told us last week The Apex resident will return to France during the week before heading into the fall. “I still have one week in New Zealand, then I have a month off (for skiing). Then I usually leave in mid-October for Pitztal […]Then I also go with the Relève group to Pitztal for five days, and then to Scandinavia. I’m not sure yet what the program is with Etihad, but I think we’ll do some shopping there, because we’ll be in Liffey and Capdales. Once we get back, I think I’ll go and train a bit in Zinal with Apex, preparing for the first European Cup to be held there.
