‘A very difficult match’ against South Africa
Amid three quarters of France’s team, Gabriel Werner praised the physical intensity of the South Africans after the Blues’ victory in the first match of the World Cup improved (40-5).

South Africa are a very strong team, but we are very happy with the result, with the crowd in attendance. It was very difficult to start this competition but we finished the game in a better way.
