A person tried to set himself on fire, Friday, in New York.

The man was in court where Donald Trump is being tried in connection with the Stormy Daniels case.

Emergency services intervened to try to stop his actions.

While media attention focused on what was happening inside the Manhattan courthouse, the court where former US President Donald Trump is being tried in the Stormy Daniels case, a man tried to set himself on fire outside the building.

“A man set himself on fire outside the court and we are collecting information on site.”An NYPD spokesman said.

A gesture whose reason remains unknown

Several American media outlets reported that a man entered the square opposite the court, placing his hands behind his head before dousing himself with liquid. Then it suddenly burst into flames for several seconds before falling to the ground. Police forces immediately intervened, using a fire extinguisher to put out the fire. We still do not know the situation this person found himself in or the reasons for his actions.

The incident occurred while the court was adjourning for lunch. Shortly before, Judge Juan Merchan, who presided over the proceedings, announced that a full jury had been selected to judge Donald Trump, including twelve members and six alternates.
