A fire destroyed 3 companies in Le Lamentin
Three businesses were damaged by a fire on Sunday (August 7, 2022) in the Al-Manjal area of Acajuu or Lamintine. Many firefighters mustered to avoid the worst.

Just before 6 a.m. this Sunday (August 7, 2022), firefighters were warned of a fire inside a business in the Mangles area of the Acajou District of Le Lamentin.
At the site, they discovered that the disaster is very important and concerns two other companies relatives.
Dozens of agents from STIS (Regional Fire and Rescue Service) are deploying resources to match the disaster. But intervention is difficult because these rooms are built in the form of sheets and closed with metal blinds. It is impossible to open it to control the fire faster due to the power outage.
STIS agents have bolstered their resources with more convenient tools for opening blinds and containing fire.
“There is no risk of spreading towards the surrounding companies because the fire has been contained.”confirms Lieutenant-Colonel Albert Gaby, duty officer.
The owners or managers of the three companies involved must begin with a careful assessment of the damages. According to one of them, all equipment was completely destroyed.
A police investigation is being opened to understand the source of the fire.
