The most beautiful moments of William and Kate
About 300 million people were said to have watched on April 29, 2011, as Prince William (38) took Catherine Middleton (39) to his wife in Westminster Abbey. Even after ten years, they are considered a model couple, neither public moans, nor scandals. The two are said to have met in 2001 at the University of St Andrews in Scotland. Kate had to wait many years before William decided to take the next step. This is what earned her the nickname “Waity Katie” (“The Waiting Kate”) in British newspapers.
But in October 2010 it was time that, during a trip to Kenya, William asked for Kate’s hand. The palace announced his engagement on November 16, 2010. William gave his future wife the engagement ring that belonged to his mother, Princess Diana (1961-1997). After the dream wedding, the couple followed many other fairy tale moments.
Your first trip abroad
The newlyweds’ first trip took them to Canada and the United States for twelve days in the summer of 2011. In a parade in Calgary, William and Kate showed up in matching white cowboy hats. It’s not the only look they’ve convinced the locals of.
A year later, Cambridge got excited on a trip to Southeast Asia and the South Pacific, and they visited Singapore, Malaysia, the Solomon Islands and Tuvalu. In Tuvalu, William and Kate carried more than 25 men, and members of the royal family sat side by side in ornate chairs on a stretcher with a thatched roof. William and Kate also mingled with the crowd at the 2012 Olympic Games in London and celebrated the athletes.
Heir to the throne of the monarchy
On July 22, 2013, Prince William and Duchess Kate not only celebrated a very special moment, but also the British monarchy: His Royal Highness Prince George Alexander Louis von Cambridge, the couple’s first child, was born. After his father and grandfather Prince Charles (72 years old), he ranks third in the ranking of the British throne.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge went on a trip to Australia and New Zealand in 2014 – and eight-month-old George went with them. The young family was able to recognize koalas, among other things.
In 2015, there was another addition to the family. Her Royal Highness Princess Charlotte Elizabeth Diana was born from Cambridge on the 2nd of May. Upon their christening on July 5, 2015 in Sandringham, the Cambridge debuts in public with four – to the delight of Royal fans.
A year later, William and Kate visited India and Bhutan – and stood in front of the famous Taj Mahal, among other places. During Trooping the Color Military Parade, William and Kate also took their two young children to the balcony of Buckingham Palace.
Visit Germany
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge enjoyed visiting Heidelberg in July 2017. After a stroll in the city’s Market Square, the royals were allowed to try baking the pastry. The two children were also there when they visited Germany.
On April 23, 2018, Prince George and Princess Charlotte celebrated the birth of their little brother: His Royal Highness Prince Louis Arthur Charles von Cambridge saw the light.
On a tour through Pakistan in October 2019, William and Kate wowed the locals. They were visiting a mountainous area, playing cricket in Lahore and wearing traditional Pakistani clothes or driving a brightly colored wheelbarrow, also known as a tuk tuk. Last June, Prince Louis was happy to be seen on the balcony of Buckingham Palace.
Then Corona came …
In 2020, as the coronavirus pandemic hit the world, William and Kate spent a lot of time with their family in Linda Hall, their country home in Norfolk. Instead of on-site appointments, they rely on video calls to support residents. However, the couple managed to keep a few dates in the summer. Among other things, they helped roll out the dough in the London bakery.
And in 2021, it will mainly be up to William and Kate to secure the positive moments in the British royal family …
