Corona postponement in Ironman New Zealand, cancellation in Israman

In the area around Toubou, Corona Alert Level 2 was announced for a period of seven days. Corona restrictions are currently in effect until Sunday, March 7, and only allow events with a maximum of 100 people. Consequently, Ironman New Zealand and Ironman parallel 70.3 New Zealand could not happen on Saturday, March 6, 2021 as planned.
Organizers now want to name an alternate date as soon as possible. According to today’s update, rescheduling should take place on March 2. March 29, 2021 has been set as the new date.
Last year, Ironman New Zealand was one of the last triathlons to be held before the global event closed.
Israman again only in 2022
There is also a short term cancellation from Israel. Israman, which was initially pushed back from its original date in late January to early March, cannot happen now. The stony long distance in Eilat on the Red Sea has removed almost all of the corona obstacles, but recently there have been concerns that the event could attract many spectators and spectators outside the adjustable event areas.
