FBI says Donald Trump was hit by whole or fragmented bullet – rts.ch
The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) confirmed on Friday that former US President Donald Trump was indeed shot “whole or fragmented” during an assassination attempt. The US Federal Police are accused of maintaining ambiguity on this subject.
The Republican presidential candidate in November was shot on July 13 during a campaign rally in Pennsylvania. He suffered a minor injury to his ear.
“What struck former President Trump in the ear was a bullet, either whole or broken into small pieces,” the FBI said in a statement Friday, responding to Donald Trump’s criticism.
“I imagine this is the best apology we will ever get from Director Ray, but it is completely acceptable!” the former president responded on his Truth Social platform.
The first bullet hit him.
FBI Director Christopher Wray said Wednesday that there was still doubt about whether it was “a bullet or shrapnel that hit his ear,” during a congressional hearing. Donald Trump denounced the comments, accusing the FBI of political bias: “It was unfortunately a bullet that hit my ear.” […] There was no glass or shards.
Christopher Wray provided the first official comment from the US Federal Police on the matter, as no medical or police report had previously clarified the nature of Donald Trump's injury.
According to an article published in the New York Times on Friday, “a detailed analysis of bullet trajectories, photographs and audio recordings” […] “Strongly suggests that Donald Trump was hit by the first of eight bullets fired.”
The shooting left one person dead and two others injured, after the shooter was shot dead by agents responsible for Mr Trump's security.
