Men's Olympic Predictions
The first group of the men's football competition at the 2024 Olympics has kicked off! Ahead of the Blues' match against the United States later today, this poster between Guinea and New Zealand is the one that starts the hostilities. The match will be played on Wednesday at 5pm at the Allianz Riviera Stadium in Nice. To qualify for the global event, Guinea managed to beat Indonesia in a play-off last May (0-1). Kaba Diawara can count on a quality squad for the tournament. In particular, he was able to call up Amadou Diawara and Naby Keita. The Guinean team clearly has a chance to play in this group. They managed to build confidence in their only warm-up match, where they beat Argentina, one of the favourites for these Olympic Games (0-1).
On paper, New Zealand look like the weakest team in Group A. However, this selection should not be underestimated. Three years ago, during the last Olympic Games, the New Zealanders reached the quarter-finals. They only lost on penalties to hosts Japan. However, the situation looks more complicated a few years later. Especially since New Zealand did not shine in their only warm-up match. They were defeated by Uzbekistan last week (3-1). Guinea will try to inflict another defeat to get off to a good start in this competition.
