Updating your computer to Windows 11 is not without risks. In fact, new versions offered by Microsoft regularly contain bugs, which sometimes lead to serious consequences for users.
A new example, the June patch, also known as update KB5039302, is preventing some people from turning on their computers. The latter more specifically experience unexpected reboots that prevent them from using their computers.
These situations primarily appear on PCs running Windows 11 versions 22H2 and 23H2. Microsoft confirms that these annoyances are more likely “Affects devices using VM tools and cross-virtualization features, such as CloudPC, DevBox, and Azure Virtual Desktop“
As we write these lines, the Redmond company has indicated that it is in the process of correcting this problem, specifying that the update is no longer available through Windows Update to prevent this bug from claiming new victims.
If this version is already installed, and you are not experiencing any problems at the moment, it is recommended to get rid of it by following these steps:
- Access Windows 11 settings;
- Open the Windows Update menu;
- Go to the update history section.
- Click the Uninstall Updates button;
- Select update KB5039302;
- Click the Uninstall button.
- Touch Yes to verify the operation.
