Every year a French researcher is welcomed as part of this programme, launched by the French Embassy in New Zealand and Auckland University of Technology – Faculty of Design and Creative Technologies.

The City of Sails, New Zealand's most populous city, is home to AUT's College of Design and Creative Technologies, one of the country's most prestigious universities, which will host the winner.

Establishing

Through art and science, it is an opportunity to work on research topics that promote the hybridization of disciplines and technologies.

This is also an opportunity to work with academics to develop bridges between the French and New Zealand creative ecosystems with access to the facilities, expertise and materials of the AUT team.

The resident will be required to participate in a full series of research activities, seminars, workshops, public events and even interviews with the press.

Introductory account

The residency targets French academics with recognized artistic practice and experience in interdisciplinary research and work.

Applications will be screened based on the quality of the residency project and previous work, as well as the candidate's ability to interact with the public and students.

It will also be necessary to show a direct cooperation project between the AUT Association and the candidate's institution.

conditions

The stay lasts between 6 and 8 weeks. It includes:

  • Return flight from Paris to Auckland
  • Weekly bonus
  • Accommodation and full access to AUT facilities and materials as well as the expertise of its team

The call for applications for the 2025 edition will open at the end of March 2024 and closes on 31/07/2024 at 11:59pm (NZ time)
