Midfielder Jordie Barrett, who has one knee injury, is the biggest absentee from the New Zealand national team's ranks in the opening match of the 2023 World Cup against France, on Friday at the Stade de France, according to what the formation revealed on Wednesday in Creteil.
The youngest of the Barretts family (26), whose brothers Beauden and Scott were present in the All Blacks' starting line-up, has been replaced by Anton Lienert-Brown in a team that also does not include hooker Dan Coles, the Post's usual starter.
Jordie Barrett's absence is in addition to the absence of second row Brody Retallick, who suffered a knee injury.
