A source close to the talks told Reuters that Hamas is studying a draft truce discussed last weekend in Paris that specifically proposes a 40-day cessation of all military operations in the Gaza Strip in addition to the exchange of Palestinian prisoners for Israeli hostages. .

This proposal stipulates the repair of hospitals and bakeries in Gaza, the daily entry of 500 aid trucks into the Palestinian Strip, and the delivery of thousands of tents and caravans intended to alleviate the living conditions of the displaced.

A source familiar with the talks, who requested to remain anonymous, said that the head of Mossad, the Israeli intelligence service, David Barnea, met separately with Qatar, Egypt, and the United States. .

The proposal also stipulates the release of 40 Israeli hostages held in the Gaza Strip since the Hamas attack on October 7, in exchange for Israel releasing about 400 Palestinian prisoners.
