The 2024 New Zealand Cycling Classic (10-14 January) is the first-ever professional cycling event on the UCI Cycling New Year calendar. The 2.2 rated event in New Zealand is held over five stages between Masterton and Wellington, with the Queen’s stage on the third day of racing with the finish at Admiral Hill. At the end, the winner’s name will be entered into the list of event winners.

In 2023, it was New Zealander James Oram (Bolton Equities BlackSpoke) who led the event from start to finish after winning the first stage. In the end, the now 30-year-old racer won the general classification, ahead of his teammate and compatriot Josh Burnett, while Dutchman Adne van Engelen (Roojai Online Insurance) took third place on the podium.
