New Zealand demands clarification on final arbitration

New Zealand has demanded an explanation from World Rugby over some decisions made by referees during their World Cup final defeat to South Africa, All Blacks coach Ian Foster said during the competition.

The Springboks’ 12-11 win was in doubt by some observers, after two yellow cards were shown to the New Zealanders, including one that turned red for All Blacks captain Sam Keane for a high tackle, and he left the field. The All Blacks were outnumbered for 44 minutes of the final. South Africa captain Siya Kolisi received a simple yellow card for a direct tackle similar to what happened with Kane. New Zealand were also baffled when Aaron Smith’s attempt was ruled out by the TMO for a hit on the other side of the field.

“We sent a number of them (From the elements) – We have already sent a file to World Rugby so they can provide some feedback.”Foster told New Zealand media with a wry smile, while declining to specify which specific actions were of particular importance to the All Blacks. “Oh, I think you can guess.”to reply.
