TOP 14 TRANSFER – Oyonax has signed Jonathan Roro
Oyonnax has formalized the arrival of scrum-half Jonathan Rorow for the upcoming season. Previously, the New Zealander wore the Provence rugby jersey, before being sidelined.
Oyonnax continues to prepare for its reunion with the Top 14, after five years. With the departure of Jérémy Gondran at Bourgoin-Gallieu, the Al Ain club were looking for a half-timer to compete with the indestructible Charlie Kassang and his replacement Aylan Al-Khattabi. It will be Jonathan Roro. The New Zealander has been playing Provence Rugby since November 2021. In a season and a half, the 2021 Super Rugby winner with the Auckland Blues has played 24 Pro D2 matches. He is a Maori international (two selections) and also has 5 rugby sevens caps for New Zealand.

marginalization in Provence
Arriving at Provence Rugby to make up for the departure of Ludovic Radosavljevic, suspended for racist acts, Jonathan Roro also found himself expelled by his club. Not because of his athletic performance, it was he who was considered one of the best players in the division in his position. During an evening to celebrate the transition to 2023 with other Provençal players, he would assault a team-mate’s wife, before being corrected by a partner. It was announced he was injured before the affair broke out at the end of March, and Fanes’ brother Michael Ruru has not appeared on the field again since. His last match dates back to December 2, 2022.
