the Union. Rugby 7: Argentina, Japan, New Zealand and Samoa came to prepare for St. Caprice
Away and prestigious teams have come to train at L’Union as part of the International Rugby 7s Tournament in Toulouse, which takes place on May 12, 13 and 14 at the Ernest Wallonne Stadium.
The Toulouse Championship is a qualifying stage for the 2024 Paris Olympics in this Olympic sport for men and women. A competition in which 16 men’s and 12 women’s national teams compete. To prepare for this important penultimate tournament (the last one will be held in London), on May 10 and 11, four men’s national teams, Argentina, Japan, New Zealand and Samoa, trained on the rugby field from St. Capris Stadium in Bayonne Road. Compound welcome and highly appreciated by the team officials. The Samoan team hands over its training equipment to the AS Rugby School of the XV Rugby Club, and Reiko Shizuka, the Japanese team’s director of relations, announces that he is “very happy with the club’s welcome, and that the players have trained in good conditions to maintain great form.” New Zealand team manager David Ormrod thanked, “The club for making the sports complex available, which allowed the team to meet the Japanese team in opposition technical settings prior to the tournament.” Jean-Paul, a former player, manager and mentor now an ASUR XV volunteer, presented each team with an Etihad club jersey. A memory that will be remembered around the world. Opening of the tournament on Friday, May 12: France – South Africa, Japan – Australia, Samoa – Ireland, New Zealand – Canada and Argentina – Germany.
