Joseph Staten leaves Xbox to make AAA game for Netflix! | Xbox One

Halo series veteran Joseph Staten has officially left Microsoft. He confirmed this in a tweet over the weekend and thanked his Xbox colleagues for their understanding and support. Join Netflix to create a great game.

Goodbye Xbox and Microsoft teams

Article updated on 04/17/2023 By: Joseph Staten He wasn’t always in the spotlight. While at Bungie, he served as Director of Cutscenes and wrote the scripts for missions and cinematic stories. He also wrote Contact Harvest, a science fiction novel set in the Halo universe which was #3 on the New York Times bestseller list within its first week of release.

While Bungie left the Microsoft fold and released Destiny in 2014, it was also that year that Joseph Staten joined Microsoft Studios as Senior Creative Director. He released the novel Halo: Shadow of Intent in 2015 and wrote for ReCore (2016) and Crackdown 3 (2019).

In August 2020, Joseph Staten returned to the front of the stage. Summoned as a boost to Halo Infinite, whose tormented evolution generates a one-year delay. He reassures frustrated and a little lost teams, and convinces Microsoft management to give the studio as much time as it needs to fix things.

Launching a really finished campaign, even if it is delayed, will in any case have better stress than a problematic game. “There is nothing worse in a game than breaking out and running into all kinds of bugs or things that will ruin your gaming experience.”He said.

We’ll learn later that Halo Infinite’s campaign has actually gone through a “significant expansion” compared to the initial concept; I understand with this that it should have been more ambitious, as the ad trailer seems to be presented with its different biomes.

Joseph Staten says he has joined forces with Netflix to create a new multiplatform (big budget) AAA original game.

In my professional life, there is nothing I love more than collaborating with others to build worlds filled with iconic characters, deep puzzles, and endless adventures.

So today, I’m excited to announce that I’ve joined the Netflix Games team as Creative Director of a brand-new multi-platform AAA game and original IP. Let’s go!
