Ex Black Campbell Johnston came out first
Campbell Johnston, a former columnist for the All Blacks and Biarritz Olympic team, revealed his homosexuality during an interview on TVNZ’s New Zealand channel One News on Monday. This is the first time that a player of his choice has been crowned three times in the World Cup.
The 43-year-old columnist, a three-pick in 2005, had told his family and close friends before appearing on television. “If I can be the first All Black person to come out as gay and help prevent stigma around these issues, then it can help others.
