The American band Blink-182, which, by its own admission, has been championing obscure rock music since 1992, brings its fans a lot of joy in a variety of ways. In an uproar, not only a new world tour was announced, but also a new album and first single “Edging”, which will be released next Friday (October 14). But there’s also cause for celebration in terms of the cast.

What has been circulating as a rumor since the summer of 2022 is now confirmed: founding member Tom DeLonge, who left the band in 2015, is back as the tour returns. For an Instagram video — a pun on euphoria for a minute — the band wrote: “We’re coming, the tour is coming, the album is coming, Tom’s coming.”

Blink-182 is planning more than 70 concerts as part of their world tour

The trio has big plans to tour: DeLonge, Mark Hoppus and Travis Barker will play more than 70 concerts between March 2023 and February 2024. Starting on March 11, 2023 in Tijuana, Mexico, the final will take place on February 26, 2024 in Christchurch, New Zealand.

Blink-182 will also make three visits to Germany: on September 9, 2023 they will rock the Lanxess Arena in Cologne, after a detour through Scandinavia, then go to the Mercedes-Benz Arena in Berlin on September 16 and on September 17 at the Barclays Arena in Hamburg. Tickets for the concert can be purchased from October 17 this year.

The fact that Blink-182 can appear in its regular crew, found in 1998, isn’t just anything special because of DeLonge. In July last year, bassist Hoppus announced via social media that he was suffering from an aggressive form of cancer and was already in stage four. About three months later, he also announced via social media that he had defeated the disease for the time being and was cancer-free.

Drummer Travis Barker has recently been writing more positive headlines: In May 2022 he married his partner Kourtney Kardashian.
